Peter Andre is to take to the London stage in new musical Ghost for British charity Children In Need. For a one-off performance, the ex-husband of former glamour model Katie Price will perform the role that Patrick Swayze made famous in the 1990 movie version of the same name, which will mark his debut on the West End stage. Children In Need will be aired this November and Andre’s performance in the smash-hit musical at the Piccadilly Theatre in London will be filmed and televised for the charity show.

Ghost tells the supernatural tale of a ghost trapped between the mortal and the immortal worlds, who tries to contact his girlfriend on Earth to warn her of the man who murdered him. In 1990 the film won a couple of Academy Awards and starred the late Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore and Whoopi Goldberg. Since it has been adapted to the stage for London in mid-2011, Ghost the Musical has received excellent reviews for its spine-tingling music and incredible visual effects, and is set to hop the pond to Broadway in April 2012. The role of Sam, who Peter Andre will be playing, is usually played by former Coronation Street star, Richard Fleeshman, who will resume the role after Andre’s charity performance. It has not yet been announced just when Andre will take to the stage, but keep a look out for updates here!
